Ethiopians on Filter

Nestled between Lake Abaya and the coffee rich town of Yirgacheffe, the sub-region of Gelana Abaya produces some of the highest quality naturals within the wider Yirgacheffe region.

Producers practice organic farming, using no chemicals on their plots and discarded coffee cherry as compost. Once the Guwe wet mill has received the coffee, the cherries run through a second pass to ensure only the best, ripe cherries are considered for drying. Gelana Abaya's practices - with the aid of the local climate - allow the coffee to be dried carefully for 15-21 days.
