The Brikka features an opening in the lid that allows condensation to escape (no dilution of your espresso) and a brilliant valve which increases the brewing pressure, for an even more syrupy and intense shot of coffee.
The Brikka is made by Italy's Bialetti, the original and still the best makers of what we now call stovetop, percolator or moka pot coffee brewers. The now iconic design of a Bialetti stovetop was patented by Alfonso Bialetti back in 1933, and the sturdy and reliable coffee makers have been staples ever since, with few changes to their classic design.
This Brikka, with the addition of Bialetti's patented pressure valve, represents the first important update to a coffee brewing classic.

The Brikka is made from food-grade aluminium alloy, which means it's not compatible with some electric or induction cooktops. Happily, we also stock the Bialetti Venus, developed especially for these heat sources.
We recommend an espresso roasted coffee for the Bialetti, finely ground. When using your Bialetti for the first time, make sure you run a couple of brews through before drinking to season it. As with any other brewing device, we'd recommend adjusting your recipe (the temperature of the heat source, how much coffee you're using and how fine it is ground) to get the flavour and texture you want.
