With a day job running guided walks through Melbourne's laneways and rooftops, Monique prides herself on her knowledge of the city and her friendship with the people that bring it to life. Devouring Melbourne is shaped around a series of self-guided walks that taste the best of central Melbourne's Coffee, Chocolate, Dumplings, Bars and Wine. The guided walks are supplemented by interviews with some of Melbourne's hospitality characters, including our much loved (ex-but-still-part-of-the-family) barista/legend Sam O'Neill. Along the way are fascinating and enlightening explanations, histories and anecdotes, illustrated with charming pencil drawings by local artist Claire Best.
