We’re excited to introduce another lot from Ethiopia’s Tega and Tula organic coffee farm.
The 500 hectare pair of farms is nestled among the wild forest coffee of the famous Keffa zone of Ethiopia, where some say the first Arabica plants most likely sprouted and spread. Over the past few years, the farms’ Founder and Owner Ahadu Woubshet has invested in better drying techniques and technology, and trains and pays his pickers considerably better than the local average.
The farm has become a significant part of the local economy, having funded a local school, and the repair of major roads. Another focus for Ahadu is the conservation and protection of the environment. Tega and Tula’s organic certification is an important part of the business model, and Ahadu is clear to show how valuable it is for the farm to be a part of a healthy ecosystem rather than deplete natural resources.
