Banko Gotiti is the name of both the village and the washing station where this coffee is produced. Located close to the border of the Oromia Region, the closest main town is Gedeb, south of Yirgacheffe, in the Gedeo Zone of the Southern Nations Region.
The Banko Gotiti cooperative was established in 2012 as a seperate entity from the larger Worka Cooperative, and currently has 300 members. It is well known for the best coffee cherry selection in Ethiopia. Ripe cherries are carefully selected and immediately placed on raised beds carefully constructed to ensure proper air circulation and temperature control for an optimal drying process.
